iREMO - intelligent REactive polymer composites MOulding

Implying 10 partners from 6 european countries, the iREMO (intelligent REactive polymer composites MOulding) project is partly funded by the European Seventh Framework Programme (FP7) over three years. This project, which has started in September 2009, will develop process monitoring technologies for the processing of liquid composite materials.

Project aim:

To develop intelligent process monitoring and control tools towards the composites manufacturing automation:

  • Integrated electrical sensing tools
  • Robust artificial neural network
  • Self-learning process modeling and control
  • Self-calibrating process monitoring
  • Wireless sensor networks
  • Robust storage solution
  • Model-based simulation
  • Knowledge-based databases

Applications:

Industrial applications are already active in infusion, RTM Light and RTM for the automotive (doors), construction (bridge beams) and boat-building sectors (boat seats).
